Funeral services for Eugene E. Abell, 65, will be held at the Roley Christian Church, on Friday, August 28 at 3 p.m. CDT. The Rev. Tom Bledsoe will conduct the services. Mr. Abell was a member of that church. He was born October 9th, 1894, in Adair County near Roley, the son of Irvin Abell and Elizabeth Sanders. He was married to Lucy Rae Mann Abell, 41 years ago, and they had made their home at Casey Creek, in Adair County. Surviving are his wife and children, Edward, Sgt. in the Army, now stationed in Germany; Mrs. Lucille (James) Blair, Doylestown, OH; William Ray Abell, Alexandria, VA; and John E., of Valley Station, KY. He also leaves 2 brothers, Joe of Clementsville and William of Louisville, and sisters, Mrs. Zora (Jake) Mann, Bradfordsville; Mrs. Lizzie Cox, Lebanon; and Mrs. Bessie (Ombie) Wethington, of Clementsville. No grandchildren survive. Pallbearers were friends. He died Monday, August 24, [1959] at 4:10 p.m. at a Danville Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.
