Mrs. Gladys Bell Rachel, 74, of Mount Ephraim Road, Dickerson, died Thursday. Feb. 26, at her] daughter's home.

Her husband, Russell Rachel, died July 11, 1997. They were married 58 years.

Born in Dickerson, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Mabel Hungerford Poole.

Surviving are two daughters, Anna Jane Poole and husband Francis Raymond of Dickerson, and Mildred Louise Bodmer and husband Charles Richard of Ijamsville: a son, Russell W. Rachel and wife Sandra Jo of Dickerson, two sisters, Blanche Jeffers and Mildred Stottlemyer, both of Dickerson; a brother-in-law, Jack D. Williams of Laurenburg, N.C.: a sister-in-law Edna Rachel of North Dakota; 10 grand children; and 15 great-grandchildren.
