Mrs. Jessie Irene Poole Gibson, Wheaton, died Tuesday, July 9. Born Nov. 15, 1915, she was the wife of Lawrence Edward Gibson, who died May 16, 1981.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by the following children: Irene Dixon of Rockville, Claude M. Gibson of Bristol, Tenn., Lawrence E. Gibson Jr. of Kensington, Walter R. Gibson of Wheaton, David L. Gibson of Wheaton, Robert E. Gibson of Kensington and Earl M. Gibson, Wheaton; one brother, Raymond E. Poole, Gaithersburg; five sisters, Mildred Stottlemyer of Dickerson, Helen Collins of Elkridge, Gladys Rachel of Dickerson, Blanche Jeffers of Dickerson and Dorothy Linthicum, Clarksburg; 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In 1977, Mrs. Gibson retired from the Montgomery County School Board after 32 years of service.

Viewing will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the Tyson Wheeler Funeral Home, Rockville Pike, Rockville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Bladensburg.
