Mrs. Mildred V. Stottlemyer, 93, of Dickerson, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
She was the wife of the late Harry J. Stottlemyer.
Born on May 4, 1912 in Beallsville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mable Hungerford Poole.
Mrs. Stottlemyer enjoyed playing the slots at Charlestown and bingo games in Urbana and Walkersville. She was an avid traveler and loved having family along on her journeys. She was devoted to her family as well as the Redskins and Orioles.
Surviving are eight daughters, Virginia Grimes, Janet Butler and husband Albert, Debra Nannetti and husband Gene, all of Walkersville, Susie Bodmer and husband Buddy of Beallsville, Terrie Baugher and husband Butch of Boyce, Virginia, Becky Gatrell and husband Jake of Ocean Pines, Helen Allnutt and husband Jim of Monrovia, Pat Doyle and husband Tom of St. George, Georgia; two sons, Carlton Stottlemyer and friend Belinda Brownell and Walter "Tubby" Stottlemyer and wife Janice, all of Dickerson; daughter-in-law Louise Main and husband John of Frederick; son-in-law Robert Deadrick of Barnesville; 36 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Harry "Sam" Stottlemyer Jr. and Lou Deadrick; her sisters and brothers Jessie Gibson, Helen Collins, Eleanor Clements, Dorothy Linthicum, Gladys Rachel, Blanche Jeffers, Harry Poole, Raymond Poole, Walter Poole; one grandson, Mike Grimes; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Vada Stottlemyer; and son-in-law Ken Grimes.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Md. 109), Barnesville (hiltonfh.com). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, at Memorial United Methodist Church, 17821 Elgin Road, Poolesville. Interment will follow in Monocacy Cemetery.
