David Eugene Taylor, 83, of Salinas died Friday March 25, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 15, 1922 in Wynne, Arkansas and lived in Salinas for 60 years. He was a carpenter by trade. He was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing.
He was a member of the Echoes From Calvary Church in Salinas, and he loved reading the Bible.
David was in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
David was married to Roberta Taylor of Salinas for 57 years. He left behind a daughter, Trish, and a son, Rick. He also leaves behind grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
David's brothers are Marvin Lee Taylor, Leamon Ray Taylor, Olen Junior Taylor all of Salinas and all deceased. His sisters are Mary Gerene Mann of Arizona, and Dovie King of Oregon. His deceased sisters are Virgie Goodnight of Salinas, Tilese and Dorna Taylor from Wynne, Arkansas.
David's mother is Maude Irene Fisher Taylor and his father is Wiley David Taylor. Both are from Arkansas and both are deceased. Maude lived in Salinas, California for many years before she passed away in 1971.
