Olen Junior Taylor, 85, of Salinas passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 in Salinas. Born in Wynne, Arkansas January 13, 1927, he resided in Salinas for the past 65 years. He retired from Granite Construction Co. as a Truck Driver and had served in the U.S. Army.

Olen was a long time member of First Assembly of God in Salinas. He owned and operated Taylor Trucking Co. prior to working for Granite Construction Co. He enjoyed working in his garden and was known for his tinkering and handyman skills. Known as "Papa", he loved spending time with his family.

Olen is preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Romano; his brothers, Marvin, Ray, and David Taylor; a sister, Virgie Goodnight; and a great grandson, Clay Leonard.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church, 1025 Fairview Ave., Salinas, CA 93905.

Burial with Military Honors followed at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Salinas. Arrangements were entrusted to the Healey Mortuary & Crematory. www.healeymortuary.com
