Lloyd Malcolm Palmer, son of Dooley Edgar and Leslie Otelia O'Dell Palmer was born July 6, 1920, in Laclede County, Missouri and departed this life April 19, 2012, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years.

For several years after Lloyd's marriage on October 17, 1941, to Charlotte Evelyn Pownall, they farmed his home place until they purchased a farm in 1948. Lloyd truly enjoyed farming of all kinds, whether it was dairy farming, raising hogs and chickens, or eventually in 1964, Black Angus Cattle.

Lloyd made a profession of faith in Christ early in life and was a longtime active and faithful member of First Baptist Church, where he was also a deacon emeritus. The time spent and fellowship he shared with his church family was very important to him.

Lloyd was a Lab Technician at MFA Producers Creamery for seven years. He was then a Field Rep. for MFA Farmers Exchange for twelve years. He also worked as a salesman for Johnson Furniture for thirteen years. The friendships he made with his co-workers and employers through the years were priceless. He treasured each of them.

When he wasn't working, Lloyd enjoyed being outdoors. He especially enjoyed tending to his gardens, both flower and vegetable. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with his loving family. They were most important to him.

Lloyd is survived by one son, Kent Palmer and his wife Sharon of O'Fallon, MO; One daughter, Judith Webb of Blue Springs, MO; one brother, Dooley Palmer, of Lebanon, MO; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte Evelyn Palmer, on January 7, 1987; one son-in-law, Russell Dean Webb; two brothers, Hugh O. Palmer, and Roy S. Palmer; and seven sisters, Eppah Luthy, Jessie Snow, Nola Gadd, Naomi Edwards, Hester Grace, and twin sister, Neva Smith and Cleva Davis.

Lloyd was a wonderful father, caring grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend. He taught his children the importance of hard work and strong faith. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him through the years will miss the laughter, but cherish every memory. Our loss was Heaven's gain.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Kyle D. Webb and Matt Taylor officiating. Music was provided by Rob Baker, Four His Glory Quartet, Linda York, and Ken Burd. Escorts were Pat Palmer, Eric Muser, Brian Webb, Shannon Palmer, Jeffery Webb, Dion Webb, and Barry Palmer. Arrangements were under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
