Funeral services for Nola Gadd were held Nov. 9 at White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Revs. Theron McCloud and Buddy Pope officiating. Music was by Joe and Paula Gaunt, David and Kathy Wood. Burial was in White Oak Pond Cemetery and escorts were Bob Beck, Ted Bowman, Kenneth Sharp, Howard Prock, Jimmy Stames and Noble B. Hudson. Arrangements were under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.

Nola Shannon, daughter of the late Dooley E. and Leslie O'Dell Palmer, was bom Oct. 12, 1902 in Laclede County near Russ, and died Nov. 6, 1988 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

On Dec. 15, 1921 she was married to William Irving Gadd, who preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1981. She was also preceded by three sisters, Cleva Davis, Neva Smith and Eppah Luthy; two grandsons, Erwin Palmer Gadd, Jr. known as "Bucky" and Kyle Irving McDonald.

She is survived by a son and daughter, Erwin Gadd of Jefferson City and Carmen McDonald of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Naomi Edwards, Lebanon; Jessie Snow, Oakland, Neb.; and Hester Grace, Tavares, Fla.; four brothers, Hugh, Roy, Dooley and Lloyd Palmer, all of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Keith McDonald, Joplin; Kathy Brown, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Nola Karline Loring, Neosho; RodgerGadd, Springfield; and John Gadd of Lebanon; six great­grandchildren, Brian and Felesha McDonald, Lisa, Todd and Chad Brown, and Carmen Nicole Loring.
