Roy was saved at a young age and was a member of the White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church for several years. For the last twenty years he was an active member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and served the church in various capacities. He currently was serving as chairman of the Deacons.
He was a devoted and loving husband to Cora Belle and for the last several years it was through his eyes that she saw the world around her. Roy was very seldom seen without Cora Belle on his arm and as of last month, they celebrated their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary together. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and gardening and also liked visiting with his many friends.
Roy will be fondly remembered as a loving family man, a true Christian leader and as a caring and concerned neighbor and friend.
