OBITUARY:
Walter "Tub" Bacon, 64, of Kingston, died Thursday, November 19, 1998 at his home. He was born March 27, 1934, in Sycamore, the son of George and Edythe (King) Bacon. He married JoAnne Hicks on November 15, 1957, in Anna, Illinois. He was a truck driver and owner/operator leasing to Tri-State Transportation Company. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 and was a member of Genoa VFW Post, the Marine Corps League in Sycamore and 40 & 8. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Kingston United Methodist Church with Reverend Gregg Downs and Reverend Everett Owens officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mayfield Cemetery near Kingston.
