OBITUARY:

Wilmer "Squirt" R. Bacon, 61, of Kingston died Friday, March 22, 1996 at the Hines Veteran Hospital in Hines, Ill. He was born March 27, 1934 in Sycamore, the son of George and Edythe (King) Bacon. He was a self-employed tradesman. He was a Marine Corps veteran, during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post #8387 in Genoa, the American Legion Post #1010 in Kingston, the Forty & Eight and A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois, DuPage Chapter. He is survived by three sons, Wilmer "Dan" (Tammy) Bacon, James (Janet) Bacon, both of Genoa, and Donald (Sue) Bacon of Bristol, Wis.; two daughters, Sandy (Jeff) Beach of Kingston and Janet (Chris) DeMunn of Kirkland; two brothers, Elmer Bacon of Holcombe, Wis. And Walter "Tub" (JoAnn) Bacon of Kingston; five sisters, Nellie Smith, Jean Carnell, Georgia "Squeak" Sester, all of Kingston, Violet "Dutch" Ramey of Whitesburg, Tenn. And Phyllis "Fuzzy" Parkins of Goshen, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kingston United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayfield Cemetery, near Sycamore. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Genoa. A memorial fund has been established in care of the funeral home.
