Isadore (Ike) Calton

Isadore (Ike) Calton, 73, 1135 S. 2nd West, retired Salt Lake City police officer, died Thursday noon in a Salt Lake hospital after a lingering illness.

Mr. Calton served with the city police force for more than 20 years, retiring 20 years ago with the rank of detective.

A son of William and Maria Calton, he was born Jan. 28, 1877, in Salt Lake City. He married Anna Christensen in April, 1900, in Salt Lake City.

Survivors include his widow; four sons, Erwin J., Merlon and Harry G. Calton, Salt Lake City, and Dean E. Calton, Holladay; two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Jensen, Holladay, and Mrs. Eleanore Jones, Sacramento, Cal.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Monday noon at 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
