PIONEER RESIDENT OF MCMILLAN DIES
Mrs. John Zettler, 57, a resident of the town of McMillan the past 40 years, died at 12:30 o'clock this morning at St. Joseph's hospital, where she had been a patient the past nine weeks. Death was due to a cancerous growth.
The body will lie in state at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Bruckert, 404 North Peach street, until Wednesday afternoon, when a brief service will be held there at 1 o'clock, after which it will be taken to Immanuel Lutheran church, Hewitt, for funeral rites. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The Rev. S. E. Rathke, pastor, will officiate.
Mrs. Zettler, whose maiden name was Sophia Grunberg, was born in Germany Nov. 16, 1871, and married in the Hewitt Lutheran church 41 years ago to the husband who survives her. Shortly after their marriage they settled on a farm on Route 5, which has since been the family home.
Of the eight children born to her, the oldest, Julius, preceded her in death 14 years ago, as the result of a dynamite explosion. The surviving children, besides Mrs. Bruckert, are Mrs. Lawrence Koppy, Mrs. Truman Moody, and Alvin, all of St. Paul; Edmund and Miss Betty Zettler, Route 7, and Norman, at home. She also leaves seven grandchildren.
