DEATH OF JOHN JACKSON.

Employe of Old Canning Factory Succumbs at 77 Years.


John Jackson, 77 years old, died last evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert {Anna} Seeley, Fifth [sic: 15th] and Spruce streets. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mr. Jackson had been a resident of Leavenworth for many years and was employed at the old canning factory and later at the washing machine factory. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Rebecca Hanks, Mrs. Addie Carroll, Mrs. Vina Binan [sic: Bynan] and Erna [sic: Eva] Jackson.

Funeral services for John Jackson who died Tuesday [26 May 1914] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert [Anna] Seeley, will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from her residence, Fifteenth & Spruce streets, the Rev. C.B. Young of the Michigan Avenue Church officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Mr. Jackson was born in Lincolnshire, England, and was an engineer by trade. Following are the children who survive: Mrs. Robert [Anna] Seeley, Mrs. George [Tabytha Vina] Bynan, Mrs. William [Evaline] Ridge, Mrs. William [Jennie] Chambers, Mrs. Elmer [Rebecca "Annie"] Hanks and Mrs. John [Adaline] Carroll.
