Bio

Fourth generation Chapman born & raised in Leavenworth, Kansas. Our Chapman ancestors settled in Leavenworth, Kansas Territory--then known as "Bleeding Kansas"--in 1858. Three generations took the water route from England to Chicago, where Matilda Chapman was born. They most likely traveled to Kansas by canal & river, never needing to trek overland before the advent of roads & trains.
