Parents : John R. and Annie Eliza Dicken. Grandparents : Absalom B. and Elizabeth Dicken Willie Arville Dickens, 83, of Roland Street Campbellsville, died Tuesday, November 15, 1994, at the Taylor County Hospital after an illness. He was the son of the late Johnny Dicken and Annie Reader Dicken of Clinton County, Ky. Pawpa was a quiet man, but believed in his family. He loved everyone. He and grannie fell in love a long time ago, but she always wanted to stay with her mom and dad. Pawpa finally got her to move to another state, Indiana, but she was'nt happy , so she came back to Kentucky. They tried so hard to make it, but the marriage fell apart. He still always remained close to her tho. They say love remains with you until the day you die. Both of my grandparents remarried, and I love them all . A member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church and a retired employee of Bourbon Cooperage Company. Dicken is survived by his wife, Lillie Dicken; three sons and four daughters Jim A. Dicken and Billie Dicken, both of Campbellsville, David Dicken of Bonnieville Ky, and Carolyn Dicken, Anna Mae Mitchell, Mildred Carter, and Geraldine Wheat all of Campbellsville Ky. 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Bernal Dicken and Hattie Dicken Bryant, both of Campbellsville, and Mattie Spears of Indiana. Funeral was at 11 a.m.Thursday, November 17, 1994, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Campbellsville Meemorial Gardens. The Rev. Brian Fannin officiated. Active Pallbearers were :Mike Marcum, C.J. Bishop, Darrell Mays, Kelsay Barnes, Eugene Matney, Ken Keltner. Honorary pallbearers were members of his Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
