Bernal (or Burnell) Allen Dicken was the 7th of 7 children born to John R. and Annie Eliza (Reeder) Dicken. His obituary in the Kentucky News reads, "Bernal Allen Dicken 85. Mr. Bernal Allen Dicken, age 85, of Eads Street, Campbellsville, died thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Medco Nursing Home after an illness. He was the son of the late Johnnie Dicken and Annie Reeder Dicken of Clinton County. He was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the Union Underwear Company. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daugher in infancy, one brother, Willie Dicken and three sisters, Mattie Spears, Mary Canada and Verlie Ross. Mr. Dicken is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Dicken, and one son, Sanford Dicken. Four grandchildren, Mark, Michael and Michelle Dicken and Jeanetta Lynn Hurst also survive along with three great-grandchildren, Jorson Jurst and Makayla and Cameron Dicken and one sister, Hattie Bryant of Campbellsville. Several other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Bernal Allen Dicken were held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 29, 2004, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors by the Marion County D.A.V. Brother Bobby Cole and Brother Wayne Brooks officiated. Pallbearers Jodie Mings, Leonard Barnett, Jerry Parker, Buddy Loy, David Nelson, Kenneth Collins."
