William August Damp, 76, Reseda, California, former Wausau resident, died suddenly of a heart attack in Reseda at 10:15 am Tuesday.

Funeral services weill be held here Saturday in Ritter & Deutsch Funeral Home at 1:30 pm with the Rev. R. J. Huck, pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran church, officiating. burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. The body will be at the funeral home Friday.

Mr. Damp was born May 13, 1888, in Germany, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Damp. He was married Sept. 30, 1911, in Wausau to Anna Hoffmann, who survives. Mr. Damp retired in 1955, after beign employed as superintendent of machines at Marathon Corporation.

Mr. Damp was brought to this country by his parents when quite young, his family settling in Oconto Falls. Hhe came to the Wausau area when he was 14 years old.

Other survivors, besides the widow, are two sons, Roy, Schofield, and Vernon, Rothschild, a daughter Mrs. William Barden, Granada Hills, California, four brothers, Emil, Brokaw, Fred, Tomahawk, Robert, Oconto Falls, and the Rev. Charles Damp, Berry Lake, two sisters, Bertha and Emma.
