Barb OD has retired from Find a Grave. Their enthusiasm for cemeteries and willingness to help future generations lives on through their contributions to Find a Grave. The management of their memorials has been transfered to Find a Grave.
I am interested in entering and linking as many of my family members as possible for the use of future generations. If I post any information or photos all users are free to make a copy of these and re-post them to other websites. The more information made available the better for future generations. As another find a grave contributor stated:
Who would hold hostage - under the pretense of copyright - the photo of a grave stone?
I am particularly interested in preserving the information regarding cemeteries in the Eastern Townships of Quebec such as Ste-Agathe, St-Sylvestre, and St-Jacque-de-Leeds, Inverness, St Pierre, St Patrice, St Severin, St Elzear, and Thetford Mines and St-Jean where many of my ancestors are buried after immigrating from Ireland.
I am still entering information about burials in cemeteries up thru 1941 using church records ifor regions of Eastern townships. Please contact me to transfer your ancestors to your management. Given there are more than 40,000 memorials I have entered in these locations I cannot manage them all myself.
In June of 2015, and in May of 2018 I visited and photographed 9 cemeteries in this area (Ste-Agathe, St-Jacques-de-Leeds, St-Pierre-de-Broughton, and Inverness (St-Athanse), Sacre Couer de Jesus, Saint Antoine, St Adrien de Ireland, St Patrice de Beaurivage, and St Gilles). Those photos have been posted. I was unable to completely photograph St Gilles, St Antoine and Sacre Couer due to time constraints. Stones that are older may no longer exist in those cemeteries. This may be because of the age of the marker or because the cemetery has recycled the grave and tossed the marker! Please help preserve the history of the cemeteries.
To thank me, please adopt a cemetery near or near and dear to you, and see if it has been fully photographed, if not, adopt it by taking photos of all the stones. If you need help posting them, contact me and I will help you. Pay it forward, others will appreciate it!
