Former Merlin resident Lloyd H. Engebretson, 79, of Kingman, Ariz., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, at Kingman.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass with Grants Pass Lodge No. 84 A.F.&A.M. officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 9, 1917, in Charles City, Iowa. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. He had lived in Merlin for six years before moving to Kingman seven years ago.

Engebretson was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.

He especially enjoyed painting.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, of Kingman; six daughters, Shirley A. Collins of New York, N.Y., Dorothy J. Blair of Rockford, Ill., Henrietta Rankin of Anchorage, Alaska, Martha M. "Susan" Hansen of Sacramento, Calif., Geraldine Mioni of Gold Hill and Darlene Engebretson of Barrow, Alaska; two sons, Arnold J. Engebretson Jr. of Glennallen, Alaska, and John H. Engebretson of Copper Center, Alaska; a brother, Dean H. Engebretson of Kingman, Ariz.; two sisters, Norma Beard of Rockford, Ill., and Geraldine Goad of Kingman, Ariz.; 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
