KINGMAN, Ariz. - Dean Hanford Engebretson, 88, of Kingman died Monday, May 15, 2000, in Kingman. Born Nov. 10, 1911 in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Shirley and Henrietta Hanford Engebretson. During his youth, Dean lived on the family farm near Davis Junction. He worked in the wheat fields of the Dakotas and went on to Bremerton, WA. There he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Dean loved his country, defending it during World War II in the Pacific Theater and in Korea. He retired from the Marine Corps after 23 years of service, attaining the rank of sergeant major. Survivors include sisters, Norma J. Bradley of Rockford and Geraldine Goad of Kingman. He was predeceased by wife, Margaret; parents; sister, Lois Baxter; and brothers, Arnold, Shirely, Sherman, and Lloyd.

Burial with military honors will be in the military cemetery, San Antonio, TX. Memorials in care of the family for the Field of Honor, Loves Park.
