J. Arthur Patenaude of 302 Dunstable Road, North Chelmsford, widely known painter, died yesterday afternoon at St Joseph's Hospital at the age of 66 years.
He was born in Lowell, on April 5, 1898, the son of the late Alfred J. and Hedwidge M. (Turcotte) Patenaude, he was raised in Chelmsford and attended schools there. Mr.Patenaude was a well-known painter in the area and owned and operated Patenaude Bros. Painting with his brother Alphonse. He was a member of The Holy Name Society of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Chelmsford.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mildred M. (Roberts) Patenaude of North Chelmsford.
Besides his wife, He is survived by four daughters, Virginia L. and her husband Walter Jensen of North Hampton, NH, Mary H. and her husband James Urban of Dunstable, Theresa M. and her husband Arthur Smith of Tyngsboro, and Aldea A. and her husband Robert Bourassa of Tyngsboro; three sons, A. Warren Patenaude and his wife Gloria of West Chelmsford, Robert L. and his wife Ruth of Tyngsboro, and Joseph A. and his wife Patricia of North Chelmsford.
Also, he leaves his Grandchildren, Bernard Jensen, Richard Jensen, Callie Sue Patenaude, Melody Patenaude, Diane Urban, Susan Urban, Linda Urban, Donna Patenaude, David Patenaude, Douglas Patenaude, Daniel Patenaude, Joanne Patenaude, Patricia Patenaude, Kevin Patenaude, Brian Smith, Thomas Smith, James Smith, Kimberly Smith, Debra Smith, Mildred Smith, Mary Ellen Smith, Robert Bourassa, Belinda Bourassa, and Pamela Bourassa.
Also, he leaves a great-granddaughter, Cheryl Jensen.
