DRACUT - Mrs. Virginia L. (Patenaude) Jensen, 89, of Dracut, sadly passed away May 21, 2011, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter B. Jensen who predeceased her on February 27, 1971.
Virginia was born on December 19, 1921, in North Chelmsford, the daughter of the late J. Arthur and Mildred M. (Roberts) Patenaude. She was raised in Chelmsford and was educated in the Chelmsford Public School system graduating from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1940. Virginia was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Chelmsford and was a member of the prominent Patenaude family of Chelmsford.
Virginia was employed by the Bowmar Ali Co of Acton where she retired from, she was also employed by the Imperial Mill. Virginia loved spending time with her family, and loved being in the outdoors, and working on her garden.
Virginia was also predeceased by her son Richard W. Jensen who passed away on November 2, 2009.
She is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law, Bernard A. Jensen and his wife Kathleen of Merrimack NH, and Eleanor Jensen of Hillsboro NH.
In addition, Virginia is survived by 13 Grandchildren, her best friend and caretaker Alison Johnston, Sharon Poitras, Virginia Battle, Richard Jensen Jr, Kevin Jensen, David Jensen, Walter Jensen, Keith Jensen, Cheryl Yabroudy, Cindy Gustavson, Hope Lacasse, Kelly Jensen, and Heidi Jensen.
Also she leaves 18 beloved Great Grandchildren, Joshua Jensen, Alec Johnston, Tyler Johnston, Haileigh Johnston, David Poitras Jr., Dale Poitras, Kristen Battle, Kerry Battle, Shawn Battle Jr, Jessica Jensen, Heather Jensen, Ashley Jensen, Trevor Gustavson, Luke Gustavson, Elise Yabroudy, Brooke Yabroudy, Ryan Lacasse, and Katelyn Lacasse.
Virginia is survived by a sister, Mary Urban of Dunstable, a brother Joseph Patenaude and his wife Elaine of Estero FL, three sisters-in-law Patricia Patenaude of Chelmsford, Ruth Patenaude of Belleview FL, and Gloria Patenaude of Chelmsford.
She was the sister of the late Aldea Bourassa, Theresa Smith, Warren Patenaude, and Robert Patenaude.
