OGUNQUIT ME - Mr. Walter B. Jensen, 52, of Ogunquit ME, formerly of Westford, sadly passed away at his home, February 27, 1971, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Walter or Baldo as he was affectionately called is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia L. (Patenaude) Jensen, with whom he would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary the day of his death.
Walter was born on August 10, 1918, in Brookline NH, the son of the late Albert J. Jensen and the late Gretta M. (Keating) Bartlett.
Walter was raised in Pepperell, by his grandparents the late Jens A. and Amanda (Olson) Jensen, and attended Pepperell Schools, graduating from Pepperell High School, with the class of 1936. He was a former member of the First Congregational Church, in Pepperell, and more recently was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Chelmsford.
Besides his wife, Mr. Jensen is survived by two sons, Mr. Bernard A. Jensen and his wife Kathleen of Merrimack NH, and Mr. Richard W. Jensen and his wife Eleanor of Arundel ME.
Also, he leaves 11 Grandchildren, Alison, Richard, David, Kevin, Sharon, Cheryl, Cindy, Hope, Heidi, Keith, and Kelly.
Walter also leaves behind a brother and two sisters-in-law, George J. Bartlett and his wife Eleanor of Tewksbury, and Joan Jensen of Chelmsford.
Walter was the brother of the late Albert Jensen who was killed in action, in World War II, and Richard A. Jensen.
He also leaves his wifes siblings Warren Patenaude and his wife Gloria of Chelmsford, Robert Patenaude and his wife Ruth of Tyngsboro, Joseph Patenaude and his wife Patricia of Chelmsford, Mary Urban and her husband James of Dunstable, Theresa Smith and her husband Arthur of Lowell, and Aldea Bourassa and her husband Robert of Chelmsford.
Walter also is survived by three Aunts, Charlotte Iten of Pepperell, Amanda Blake of Old Bridge NJ, and Adeline Ferguson of Sutton, also by two Uncles Arthur Jensen of Fitchburg, and Frank Jensen of Daytona Beach FL.
