LOWELL - Alfred J. Patenaude real estate operator died last night, March 12 1960, at his home, 1057 Middlesex Street.Patriarch of the prominent Patenaude family of Chelmsford. He was born on December 8 1873 in Coaticook, P.Q. Canada, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Prosper and Octavie (Trudeau) Patenaude. He came to the United States at the age of 12 in 1885 with his family settling in Lowell, Massachusetts. He met and married his beloved wife Mrs. Hedwidge M. (Turcotte) Patenaude who was also a French Canadian Immigrant. Mr. Patenaude lived most of his married life in North Chelmsford, where he raised his family and was a prominent resident. He was a communicant of Saint John the Evangelist Parish of Chelmsford. Mr. Patenaude of a member of the Holy Name Society of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish. Mr. Patenaude leaves five daughters Mrs. William (Dora) Mahoney of the Bronx N.Y., Mrs. Thomas (Yvonne) Barrett of North Chelmsford, Mrs. Maurice (Irene) Spaulding of Waitsfield V.T., Mrs. James (Bertha) Meade of Tyngsboro, and Mrs. Leon (Alyce) Chase of North Chelmsford; four sons Mr. Leo Patenaude of Tampa Fla, Mr. Arthur Patenaude of North Chelmsford, Mr. Alphonse Patenaude of Tyngsboro, and Mr. Armand Patenaude of Red Lodge Montana. He also leaves 28 Grand Children and 30 Great Grand Children. Mr. Patenaude was the brother of Mrs. Rose (Patenaude) Plante of Chelmsford, Mrs. Agnes (Patenaude) Downing of East Andover N.H., Mrs. Nathalie (Patenaude) Clement of Lebanon N.H., Mrs. Marie (Patenaude) Daigle of Chelmsford, and Mr. John Patenaude of Quebec Canada.
