Luella was the daughter of Ammon Meshach Tenney, Sr. and Anna Sariah Eagar.

Luella was born and died in the town of St. Johns, Apache County, Arizona.

She died of measles which led to pneumonia. Her sister, Abbey Celestia, died of the same illness twelve days later.

Luella's father wrote in his diary:

".... we had laid away two sweet little girls in the St. John's graveyard:

Born: Abbey Celestia Tenney, July 13, 1876 in Kanab, Kane Co., Utah

Born: Luella Maud Tenney, Oct. 16, 1882 in St. John's, Apache Co., Arizona Terr."
