A member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, he was a 1928 and 1929 OU Sooner National Wrestling Champion, weight 125 lbs, hometown, Purcell, McClain Co., OK.
Beginning in 1930, he was a coach and high school principal in Sulphur, OK, and, in 1938, the couple moved to Purcell.
The Mantooths built and established the first supermarket and were active members of the First Baptist church in Purcell.
