"Mantooth Rites Are Conducted Here Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Mantooth, 82, a pioneer resident of McClain County, were held Wednesday morning in the Conner-Roberts chapel, with Rev. John Meador officiating. Interment was in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery.
Born at Marietta, Indian Territory on Feb. 7, 1888, she was married to the late A. B. Mantooth on June 6, 1905 near Rosedale. They farmed in the Rosedale-Wayne area for a number of years and also lived on a farm for about 6 years. In 1946, the Mantooths moved to Purcell and had lived herre since that time. Her husband died in 1965.
Mrs. Mantooth was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in the work of her church for a number of years. She had been in failing health for the past year and died Monday morning at her homoe, 518 Brule Street.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lois Hinton, Purcell; Mrs. Bea Estep, Montgomery, Ala.; Mrs. Clara Miller, Antlers; Mrs. Joan Thomas, Altus; four sons, Laurence, Albert Willard and Russell, all of Purcell; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Bishop, Carnegie; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Garland Anderson, Jerry Mantooth, Dale Wall, Lloyd Anderson, Jackie Ozment and John Kaufman.
Honorary bearers were: E.L. Luper, Earl Sherman, Neil Sherman, Elmo Rainbolt, D.D. Rose, Walt Adamson, E.L. Dobbins, J.P. Smith, Joe Huddleston, Walter Thurston, Tom Smith, Randall Brewer, Jim Kindblade, Bill Williams, Richard Gray, Mike Tinsley, Melvin Tubbs, Vernon Bass, Sam Ewing and Dr. Bill McCurdy."
