The eighth Reichenau child a son, was the first of their children to be born at the Big Saline Valley Ranch in Kimble County, Texas. His family had moved there from Llano County, Texas and taken up 16 sections of land and built the house and out buildings. The son was born while his father was out working and his mother delivered him with only small children to help her. He was buried near the spring on the Big Saline Creek. His grave was unmarked but the pile of rocks remained years later. The family was ran out by the Indian raids and moved to Mason County, Texas so the grave was not cared for.
