Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Smoot, 83, died Thurdsay at Goodwin House at Alexandria, Va.

She was the widow of William S. Smoot and is survived by two sons, Dr. John J. Smoot of Winter Park, Fla., and William S. Smoot, III, McLean, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Eleanor J. Wareheim of Frederick; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Friends may call at the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration, Braddock Heights, the Rev. Stephen L. Rudacille, officiating. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Fund.
