He came to Monona County in 1917, chose farming as his vocation and has resided in Harrison and Monona Counties since that time.
On September 12, 1925 he was united in marriage with Lillian Thompson of Onawa, Iowa. To this union three sons and three daughters were born. Robert,and Raymond both of Onawa. and Russell in the Army; Mrs. Gladys Cogdill of Vancouver, Washington, Miss Aurenia and Miss Ruth Ann Cummins both of Onawa.
Survivors are his devoted wife, the six childern,his mother Mrs, Margaret Cummins of Onawa and five sisters, Miss Irene Cummins,Mrs. Grace Ingram, Mrs, Sarah Poland, and Mrs. Lillian Beigel of Ashfork, Arizona.
Death has taken another of our good men from the community his passing will be deeply felt by all who knew him. He was a good husband and father and a true friend.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 12th at 2 P.M. with the Rev,Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Dorth Ferris sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Going Home" accompainied by Miss Nancy Ferris at the organ.
Bearers were John Tyson, Lawrence Ewing, Van Quackenbush,Conley Johnson,Alfred Butcher and Kenneth Long. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangemnts by Pearson Funeral Home.
