R. H. SUHR RITES SUNDAY

Raymond H. Suhr, former rancher and Holyoke business man, passed away Friday morning at the Logan County hospital in Sterling after a lingering illness. Death was attributed to cancer.

Services were conducted at the Holyoke Baptist church on Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Frank Alexander, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. The Lewis Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond H. Suhr was born in Defiance County, OH, on July 31, 1903, and came to Holyoke with his parents in 1908. The family resided here until 1913 when they moved to Sterling. He received his education in the public schools of Phillips and Logan counties.

As a young man he lived in Buffalo, WY for a number of years, later returning to Colorado. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Alen of Denver on December 24, 1932. To this union two daughters were born, Louise (Mrs. J.H. Atler), Washington, D.C. and Jacquelyn Rae, Holyoke.

From 1932 until 1944, the family lived at Gordon, NE, where Mr. Suhr engaged in ranching and cattle raising. He sold the ranch there in 1944 and the family came to Holyoke, where Mr. Suhr operated an implement business until failing health forced him to retire from active business.

Surviving Mr. Suhr are his wife and two daughters, already mentioned; one brother, V.A. Suhr, Buffalo, WY; six sisters, Mrs. Pearl Stevens, Buffalo, WY, Mrs. Helen D. Fiedler, Holyoke, Mrs. Esther Baldwin, Portland, OR, Mrs. Maud H. Blystone and Mrs. Ina M. Long, both of New Raymer, Colorado, and Mrs. Jennie M. Reinhardt, Sterling, and many other relatives and friends.
