Lowell (Freck) M. Cartmill, 73, died April 17, 2002, in Northside Hospital & Heart Center in St. Petersburg FL. He was born in Stockwell IN, the son of Thomas T. and Ida B. (McDole) Cartmill. He moved to Florida in the late 1940s and to Exeter NH in
the 1950s before retiring in Florida. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette IN and attended Perdue University where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. Mr. Cartmill owned and operated Lincoln Street Real Estate for more than 10 years and then worked for Century 21 Hennessey Real Estate & Associates until his retirement. He was a member of the N.H. Realtors Association and an American Legion baseball coach in the 1960s, coaching Carlton Fisk. He was an avid fan of the Florida Buccaneers, the Boston Celtics, and
the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed playing cribbage.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beverly (Allen) Cartmill; son Jack L. Cartmill of Oregon; daughter Diane C. Martin of Concord NH; stepchildren JoAnn Clark of Greenland NH, Kim Smith and Scott Trueman of Raymond NH, Glen Trueman of Exeter NH, and Lisa Trueman of Florida; several grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; one sister, Alys Dickerson of Indiana;
brother Max Cartmill of California; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Eleanor Andress and Rhea Anderson, both of Indiana, and brothers Thad Cartmill of Michigan and John Cartmill of Indiana. (The Rockingham News 4/26/2002)
