Mrs. Ida Blanche McDole Cartmill, 91, formerly of 923 N. 9th Street, died at 4:30 a.m. today in Milner Health Care Center, Rossville. She had been in failing health four years and was admitted to the health facility in September 1975. Born near Stockwell, Mrs. Cartmill was a life resident of the Lafayette and Stockwell area. She was employed as house-keeper in the pediatrics department at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 16 years before retiring. In 1904 she was married to Thad Cartmill, who died in 1958. Mrs. Cartmill was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Alys) Dickerson and Mrs. William (Eleanor) Andress, both of Lafayette, and Mrs. Joy (Rhea) Anderson of Clarks Hill; and four sons, John D. Cartmill of Lafayette, Thad B. Cartmill of Midland, Mich., Max L. Cartmill of El Cajon, California, and Lowell M. Cartmill of Raymond, N. H. Friends may call at Dickerson Funeral Home, Stockwell, from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Service at 10 a.m. Friday in Dickerson Chapel. The Rev Jack Williams officiating, interment Stockwell Cemetery. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren and 7 great- great- grandchildren (Lafayette, Indiana, Journal & Courier, February 2, 1978)
