Survive Oregon Man
PORTLAND, ORE, (AP) - Jared W. Summerhays, 57, who is survived by 36 brothers and sisters, died here yesterday after suffering a heart attach.
Summerhays, of Milton, Ore., was grand master of the Oregon Masonic Lodge.
His father was a Mormon who had four wives during the period before multiple marriages were banned.

Rites To Be Saturday for Summerhays
MILTON-FREEWATER - The body of Jared W. Summerhays who died in Portland Tuesday, was to arrived here from Portland Friday. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Christian Church in charge of the Grand Lodge of which Summerhays was Grand Master.
The body will lie in state at the Masonic Temple Friday.
Summerhays held membership in 12 Masonic groups. They were Grand Lodge of Oregon AF & AM (grand master): Knights of the York Cross of Honor: Milton Lodge AF & AM. No. 96: Baker Consistery. Pendleton Commandery No. 7. Knights Templar; Pendleton Chapter No. 23. Royal Arch Masons: Resear Lodge of Oregon. No. 198; Al Kader Temple of the Shrine: Grand Council of DeMolay. COH: Umatilla Council No. 6, Royal and Select Masters of Oregon; St. Lawrence Conclave No. 26, Order of the Red Cross of Constatine; Columbia Gorge Masonic Club: Grand Lodge of Idaho. AF & AM (honorary past grand master).
He was a member of the Milton-Freewater Post No. 24. American Legion and World War I Veteran.
He was active in youth work and installed DeMolay chapters in many towns in Oregon as well as the local order. He helped many boys to complete their education. He is survived by seven full brothers and sisters and many half brother and sisters.
An educational fund to send worthy boys to college is being stared by the Masons. They are asking checks be sent to Ollen Troyer, secretary of the local lodge.
Those who will be here for the funeral will be Ben J. Summerhays of Los Angeles, Joel J. Summerhays of Fresno, Calif., Clyde J. Summerhays of Salt Lake City, Robert Summerhays of Blaine, Mrs. Cotteral of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. T. Auger of Napa, Calif. Mrs. Leslie Larson of Oakland, Calif.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Grand Lodge. Active pallbearers will be Ben Johnson, Sprague Carter, Harold Harder, Dr. Harry Flower, Al Weinel and Alfred Beard.
