Ryan C. Miller, 65, died last night in his residence at 66 E. Franklin St., Topton.
Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Nathan and Sarah (Burkey) Miller, he was the police chief of Topton for 13 years until his retirement in 1965.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Chirch of Christ, Longswamp-Mertztown Parish, and also held memberships in the Lyons and Topton Fire companies.
Surviving are his widow, Esther M. (Ahn); three sons; Byron, Kutztown R.D. 3; Ryan, Kutztown, and LeRoy, at home; two brothers: Howard, Topton and Amandus, Fleetwood R.D. 2; and three sisters: Mrs. Sarah Schoedler, Mertztown R.D. 1; Mrs. Clara Lehman, Emmaus, and Jennie, wife of Frank Eisel, Norristown, N.J.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Schofer Funeral Home, Topton. Burial will be made in the Longswamp Cemetery.
