Donald Glenn Garner, age 81, of Union, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.

Born in Kelton, SC, on January 3, 1930, son of Davis Roy Garner (1892–1956) and Bessie Inez Adams Garner (1897–1990); widower of Evelyn Faucett Garner (1929–2008).

Attended Kelly Pinckney High School, was retired from Milliken and Company, was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the United Nations Service Medal; and was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Glenn Garner (1957–2020); one granddaughter; one great-grandson; sisters, Nathalee Garner Comer (1926–2013), Betty Dean Garner Harvey (1932–2019), Joyce Ann Garner Blakely (1935–2013), and Patsy Ruth Garner Garner (1936–2019).

Also predeceased by sisters, Thelma Juanita Garner Thrasher (1915-2004), Margaret Odessa Garner Howell (1923-2004), and Lou Jean Garner Knox (1928-2008); and brothers, Everette L Garner (1917–2005), Hershal Garner, and Thomas Leonard Garner (1919–1945), and Davis Wilbur Garner (1921–1996).

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 16, 2011, at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held at the church from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the services.

Memorials could be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.
