Bio
I am a South Carolina native with family roots primarily in Berkeley and Spartanburg Counties, as well as in Forsyth County, Georgia. My husband's heritage lies mainly in Polk and Rutherford Counties, North Carolina.
I admit that I am a late bloomer in regard to researching the history of my ancestors. I've always been curious, but now I have become addicted - and absolutely love it! It's a very challenging, and oftentimes confusing, puzzle . . . finding, sorting, and connecting the many, many pieces.
A newcomer to Find-A-Grave, this is my contribution ... in a small way ... to remember and honor those in our family who were here before us, and hopefully help those who follow us.
I believe that everyone should be remembered and in everyone having a nicely written, respectable memorial. I try to give that familial touch to each memorial I add, when possible. While I often work with obituaries, I do not cut and paste verbatim, but always try to tweak each one a little to make for a personal, more interesting memorial.
My primary focus is on the family names of Ballenger, Tallant, Bell, Scott, Horne, Putnam, Jackson, and Constance. Currently I am in the process of photographing and adding memorials for all the gravesites at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren in Green Creek, Polk County, North Carolina.
To Err Is Human, To Correct Divine. If you come across any errors or have additions to the memorials I have created, please let me know. I strive to provide accurate information and will be happy to make any changes necessary.
Lastly, a few thoughts on genealogy . . .
The wise man must remember that while he is a descendant of the past, he is a parent of the future. . . Herbert Spencer
Nothing makes our ancestors seem more real than to walk where they walked and to stand where they finally came to rest.
Our most treasured family heirlooms are our sweet family memories. . . Unknown
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. . . Anonymous
