Phyllis J. Anderson, 57, of Morgan Township, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at Porter Memorial Hospital of Valparaiso. Phyllis was a lifetime resident of Morgan Township and had worked for Opportunity Enterprises for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kouts, 25 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and was involved with 4-H for 10 years. She was a 1963 graduate of Morgan Township High School. She was born November 28, 1944 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Breitzke) Anderson.
Survivors include: mother, Dorothy Anderson of Valparaiso; four sisters; Edris Batzka, Elma Lou Looft, Dianne Anderson and Laura Lea Anderson, all of Valparaiso and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Richard; brother Rick; and sister, Geraldine.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. from the Kosanke Funeral Home of Kouts, Indiana, with Pastor Dottie Halverson officiating. Burial will be in the Adams Cemetery in Morgan Township. Memorials may be given to Opportunity Enterprises or Muscular Dystrophy. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 E. Indiana St., Kouts, Indiana.
