Dorothy Laura Anderson, 99, of Kouts and Valparaiso, IN passed away Monday, June 19, 2017. She was born March 8, 1918 in Michigan City, IN to the late Albert and Lula (Sadenwater) Breitzke. Dorothy graduated from Morgan Township High School and studied at Indiana State University. Throughout her life, she was involved in farming and politics and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kouts, Eastern Star, 4-H, Happy Circle Bunco Club, and enjoyed sewing.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Elma Lou (Henry) Looft; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Anderson; daughters: Edris (Kenneth) Batzka; Diane, Phyllis, Geraldine, Laura Lea; son, Rick L. Anderson; grandchildren: Kurt Looft and Caroline Batzka; siblings: Charles, Violet, Marion, and Richard.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 195 E. 700 S. Kouts, IN, with Pastor Roger Hartzler officiating, with visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial to follow at Adams Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the First Presbyterian Church of Kouts.
