HOUSTON THOMAS "TOMMY" WALKER
Born: August 22, 1926
Died: March 22, 2010

Houston Thomas "Tommy" Walker, 83, passed away while surrounded by the love of his family Monday, March 22, 2010. Tommy was born Aug. 22, 1926 in Bell County, Texas to Ed Lee Walker and Wiley Louise White Walker.

He married Billie Louise Love on September 3, 1955 in Jim Wells County. Tommy was a journeyman plumber at that time but in 1959 he received his Master Plumbers Certification. He owned and operated A & W Plumbing from 1973 to 1991.

He was a very hard worker but as time permitted he enjoyed deer hunting, working in his garden, watching bull riding but of all these and more, Tommy enjoyed his grandchildren the most.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Annet and Andrew Wilke of College Station,Texas, Karen and Steven Carroll of Gonzales,Texas, sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Lee and Retha Walker of Smithville,Texas, Dale and Krista Walker of Odenton, Md., Bill Walker of Gonzales,Texas, Richard and Wilhemina Walker of Belmont, Texas, Cecil and Rhonda Walker of Laredo,Texas. Sisters, Fay Copeland, Cewilla Wolff and Dorothy Smith all of Belton,Texas. Brothers, Roy Lee Walker of Colorado Springs, CO., Ed "Buster" Walker of Altair, Texas, Robert Walker of Salado,Texas, Jesse Walker of Belton, Texas, and Claude Hess of Little River-Academy, Texas. grandchildren Andrew Locke Lamb, Chris Locke Lamb, Melanie Foster, Becky Reynolds, Jenny Manning, Clayton Walker, Sandi Walkr, Stephanie Daggs, Mandee Walker, Miranda Carroll, Wendy Nathan, Lisa Dawson, Taylor Walker, Brittany Walker, Bethany Wilke, Kara Wilke, and Amy Walker; Great-grandchildren Joseph Lugo, Tyler Wells, Jewel Foster, McKaen Foster, Ashton Walker and Monica Walker.

Tommy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Billie Louise Walker, daughter Debbie Lamb, parents, four sisters:Katie Walker Hess Raabe, Hettie Louise Raabe, Evelyn Cohen and Ann Estridge and three brothers:A.W. Walker, Bill Walker, and Fred Hess.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 pm at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. Interment followed in Gonzales Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Thomas Lee Walker, Dale Walker, John Henry Wilkerson, Mike Svoboda, Richard Richter, Dale Walker and Donald Lamb.

Honorary pallbearers were: Ed "Buster" Walker and Harold McRae. Memorials may be made to any 4-H youth project. The family received friends at Seydler-Hill on Wednesday evening and greatly appreciates everyone's prayers, love and support.

Services were under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, 906 St. Paul, Gonzales, Texas 78629

Tommy was married first to Dorothy Lou Wheat and had one son then divorced, he then married Gloria, but had no children and divorced, third he married Sybil Jeannette Attaway Westfall and had a son and daughter then divorced, he then married Billie Louise Love Stirneman and had a son and 2 daughters. They remained married until Louise's death. Tommy adopted the 2 sons Louise had with Walter Stirneman and Louise adopted Tommy's 2 son's and daughter he had with Dorothy Lou and Sybil. All children are still living except Debbie Lamb, who died in a tragic accident in the family swimming pool in Bastrop Texas.
