Bernice worked for the Park Rapids Enterprise and as a legal secretary for James Wilson, Jay Mondry and Mark Thomason. She also worked in the office of the Hubbard County Clerk of Court. In 1977 she moved to Burnsville where Bernice also worked as a legal secretary for Wagner Falconer and Johnston, Ltd. until her retirement in 1992.
Bernice moved back to Brainerd in 2005 to be close to her family. She enjoyed traveling with her brothers and sister to Europe, the Middle East and throughout the United States. Bernice had a passion for bridge, card games and board games. Then she enjoyed reading and following the Minnesota Vikings and Twins and especially spending time with family.
Bernice is survived by children, Jean (Robert) Mayberry of Pillager, MN, Edward (Carolyn) Dorsey of Hubbard, IA, Linda (Dale) Grover of Park Rapids, MN, and James Dorsey of Galena, IL; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Dailey of Brainerd, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Chad Grover; sister, Ruby Sandberg; brothers, Roy, Floyd, Adolph, Milton, Donald, Leon, Lyle, and Charles Sandberg. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to The American Cancer Society.
