CHILD DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR
Charles (Charlie) SELLWOOD, 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Maley Sellwood of 413 South Ottumwa, Avenue died at the Ottumwa hospital at 12:30 pm today after he was truck by a car driven by Donald E. Parrott of near Batavia in the 1200 block of Hayne Street shortly before 11am.
The physician who examined the boy at the Ottumwa hospital shortly after the accident said that he had apparently suffered internal injuries. No fractures in the boy's arms or legs.
A report of the accident was filed at the police station by Ross L. Parrott, said to be the father of the driver and owner of the car which struck the Sellwood boy.

Funeral services for Charles Sellwood, 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Maley Sellwood of 413 South Iowa Avenue, who was fataly injured late Saturday morning when he was struck by a car on Hayne Street, will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home Tuesday at 10am. The Reverand A.D. McClure pastor of the Pentecostal church will officiate. Burial will be made in the Memorial Lawn cemetery at Ottumwa.
He was born June 15, 1924 in and died January 27, 1934; age 9y, 7m,12d.
My mom Ollie Sellwood Lanigan was watching him when this happened. She always felt guilty for his death.
