THERE WAS ANOTHER MEMORIAL AT LOWER CEMETERY FOR VERLINDA BELLE WENSELL AND HER HUSBAND, MOSES WENSELL THE REMAINS AND HEADSTONE WERE MOVED FROM LOWER CEMETERY TO OAKLAND CEMETERY IN 2007 BECAUSE OF THE DETERIORATING CONDITION OF LOWER CEMETERY. THESE TWO MEMORIALS WERE MERGED TOGETHER IN AUGUST 2021.

Verlinda (sometimes spelled Valinda) Haun was born on 20 Feb 1845, the daughter of John Haun and Jane Humbertson Haun in Garrett County, MD.

According to the Allegany County Marriages Book C - July 1865 - Nov 1873: Moses Wensell, a Widower of Allegany Co married Malinda B. Hann (Haun) of Allegany Co. on 13 Oct 1866 with the marriage being performed by H. J. Bishop of Frostburg, Md. The marriage was recorded on 12 March 1867. SEE

Verlinda died on 29 Dec 1931 and was originally buried beside her husband in the Lower Cemetery near Oakland. In August 2007, the family moved the graves of Moses and Verlinda Wensell to Oakland Cemetery due to the extreme neglect of the Lower Cemetery.
