JANE HUMBERTSON was born near Frostburg, Allegany County, Maryland, the daughter of William B.Humbertson (b. 15 Jan 1799) and Sarah M. Loar (b.13 Jan 1794 in Eckart Mines, Allegany Co, MD)

Some four years after the death of John Haun's first wife, Elizabeth White, Jane Humbertson became the second wife of John Haun on 11 Nov 1843. They moved to Garrett County where they raised their family and lived their remaining years.

Their marriage was blessed with the following children:

2) THOMAS JEFFERSON HAUN (1847-1897) m. Lucilla C. buried in West Finley Cemetery, West Finely, Washington County, PA.
3) GEORGE HAUN (1851-1907) m. Celia Ann ?. In the 1880 US Census he and Celia were living in PA. When his mother died in 1894, her obituary lists him living in Pattan, Alabama. Both he and his wife are both buried in Davis Creek Cemetery, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
4) ISAIAH HAUN (1853-1931) m. Mary E. Gauer and m. Elizabeth Warfel. He and Elizabeth are buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg, Huntingdon County, PA.

6) LYDIA MARGARET HAUN (according to the 1860 US Census she was six months old in Jan 1860 which would make her birth in Jun 1859) (Her death certificate has her date of birth as 3 Jun 1862) (1862-1938) m. George W. Poland in 1886 and following a divorce, m. James Wallace Miller and both are buried in Kirkland, King County, Washington.
7) WINFIELD SCOTT HAUN (1863-1941) m. Phoebe Jane King and is buried in Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, Washington County, Pa.

9) MOLLIE HAUN (1870-?)(listed as 10 years old in the 1880 US Census.

Bessie and Mollie are not listed as surviving their mother in her 1894 obituary (see obituary to the right) so apparently they must have died sometime before 1894.

Jane Humbertson Haun died on 29 Apr 1894 at the home of her daughter, Verlinda Haun Wensell where she made her home following the death of her husband and she is buried in Lower Cemetery 2 1/2 miles South of Oakland.
