Louise was the daughter of Jonathan Low (1831-1910) and his second wife, Martha Ella Roach (1845-1931). She graduated with honors from Sardis High School in 1901. She married Julius Banyan "Jules" Ruffin on November 8, 1905. The couple made their home near Covington and became parents to two children: J.B. Ruffin, Jr and Louise Low Ruffin. She died as a result of complications from blood poisoning at the young age of only 27 years.
