Born Thursday, July 19, 1928 in Holland, to the late J.T. Hicks and Frances Hicks, she was married to Marvin Staggs who preceded her in death. She was an assembly line worker and a member of the Rives Missionary Baptist Church in Rives, Mo.
Survivors include one son, Lonnie Marvin Staggs of Kennett; one daughter, Melba Sue Johannes of Wautoma, Wis.; one sister, Bessie Bain of Portageville; four grandchildren, Shannon Gene Johnson of Manila, Richie Marvin Staggs of Memphis, Bobby Jason Crouch of Wautoma, Wis., and Joseph Marvin Staggs of Kennett; three great-grandchildren, Oran Robert Johnson of Manila, and Brittany and Joshua Staggs, both of Memphis.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Skaggs officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of the services.
