Services for Nettie Hicks Barnes, 69, who died May 6th in St. Louis, were held at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele May 8th with the Rev. Norman Gunnells officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 25th, 1910 in Holland.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Russell of St. Louis; one son, Jerry Campbell of St. Louis; her stepmother, Mrs. Ella Hicks of Rives; five sisters, Jean Staggs of Rives, Bessie Bain of Marston, Geneva Barron of Holland, Donna Staggs of East St. Louis, Ill., and Pearl Jackson of Gobler; three brothers, Charles Sanford of Steele, James Hicks of Rives, and Stacy Hicks of Gobler; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Donald Weaver, Lloyd Martin, Parker Worrell, Alton Payne, Durham Ward, and Ralph Martin.
