Mrs. Frances Elmeda Hicks, 90, was born August 12, 1893, in Kentucky and died July 27, 1983, at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital in Kennett.
She leaves five daughters: Donna Staggs of Collinsville, Il.; Pearl Jackson of Gobler; Gene Staggs of Rives; Geneva Barron of Steele; and Bessie Bane of Portageville; Three sons: Charles Samford of Steele; Stacy Hicks of Gobler and James Hicks of Rives; Two sisters: Viola Wilson of Steele and Rosa Lee Woods of Doniphan, Mo.; One brother: Cleve Scott of Steele; and Forty-eight grandchildren and 192 great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele Saturday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Walter Lumpkin officiated.
Pallbearers were Donald Weaver, Berlin Staggs, Elmer Davis, Waynme Springer, Eugene Baugus, and Roland Parks.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
