Edward and Jane lived next to her parents on their farm until after their ninth child was born. They may have had some of the children in her parent's larger house. It was probably a very lively home. Then they left for Indiana about 1896. This was about the time Edward's father died. By the time Jane died, they were living in Darke County, Ohio.
